I’ve always enjoyed walking my dogs and swimming, I’m not lazy, but I fail to push myself as much as I need to – therefore- not achieving weight loss and a higher level of fitness. So when I saw the advertisement for Anna’s personal fitness I was interested but uncertain.
Would it be for me? A thirty eight year old chubby woman, mother of one and happily married wife. I thought maybe it wasn’t.
Isn’t it for fit, healthy, great looking, confident people?
The answer I now know is No!
After seeing her poster, I checked out her web site and asked around about her. Everything was sounding positive so I thought I’d give it a go. However, I cheated and sent her an e-mail – casual and non committal and I was very pleased with her friendly, chatty and motivational response.
She came round and we discussed my goals and hopes and I’m happy to say a month down the line I seem to be achieving them! My clothes fit better – I can run three miles and my confidence is growing.
I jokingly told Anna that I’d like to take part in a triathlon and she’s going to make sure that I will do it – next may in Turriff!
Although I felt initially personal training wasn’t for me, I can’t say how wrong I was and how happy I am that I sent that e-mail and am heading for my goals.

I wanted you to know what a difference having a Personal Trainer has made on the road to getting myself back in shape. After the initial assessment I was left with a set of exercises tailor made for my level of fitness and there went all my excuses. Knowing you were coming every week to assess my progress helped keep me on track and motivated. As my strength and endurance improved you intensified my program. That kept it interesting and helped me to see how much fitter I had become. For the first time in years, I am starting to see curves again. I am not sure who is happier, me or my husband. I think of this as an investment in myself and know the rewards I reap get better the longer I stick with it.

I had always thought personal trainers were only for top athletes and if you wanted to get fit, you should be able to do it yourself. After 5 years of not "doing it myself" I decided to contact Anna at Mastertraining.
The best thing for me is I can do a balanced exercise routine at home and when I have a lesson with Anna, she will make sure I'm doing the exercises correctly. The more I do, the more I want to do and I now swim regularly and I am feeling the benefits from it. So, if you are thinking of a personal trainer - just do it - no need to wait 5 years !
